Momento finds old gold at Silverwater

Putting a fresh spin on brownfield builds, Momento has whipped up a pub for the needy patrons of Silverwater and surrounds, in western Sydney.
The Silverwater Hotel burst open this week sporting indoor and outdoor dining, live sports, gaming and a well-appointed new bar.
The pre-loved structure is beside Eric Primrose Reserve, on the banks of and overlooking Parramatta River.
It was formerly the Dooley’s Waterview Club. The Colosimo family’s Momento Hospitality took possession in early January, installing a lightning makeover and pub persona.
Front and centre is a “new” menu of pub favourites, such as bangers and mash, southern-fried chicken, burgers and pizzas, and a range of $15 kids’ meals.
Continuing the club tradition, there are $15 lunch specials for members Monday to Friday.
The beverage list offers a big range of local and international wines, from $38- to $250 per bottle, and classic and signature cocktails and cocktail jugs. But importantly, it proudly pours a pub-style selection of classic Aussie beers and a rotating selection of craft brews.
On the horizon for the new premise is a new games room, set to feature air hockey and arcade machines, and next month APL Poker events and Quizzame trivia begin.
Momento drew upon its stable of Sydney pubs to assemble a crack team to staff the new iteration, to steer a club-turned-pub into a welcome addition to the underserved suburbs of Silverwater, Newington and Ermington.
Central to factories, commercial towers and resident communities, the Silverwater caters to tradies, office workers, and families through a well-established floorplan and deft application of Momento’s polished systems.
“What we love about this venue is that every area offers something different – from our large bar and deck area to a separate bistro dining area, sports and TAB and games rooms,” says GM Chris Mullarkey.
“There’s something for everyone.”
Silverwater is Momento’s latest new venture, building on a string of successful new developments in recent few years, including Mullane’s Hotel in Baulkham Hills. The group also saw success at the recent AHA NSW Awards for Excellence, taking home Best Metropolitan Hotel for the Duke of Dural.
