Roll Up And Join The Queue, Sydney Just Scored A Food Truck Drive Thru
Article featured in Urban List – 25th May 2020
Ah, the drive-thru. Once a service reserved for Maccas, KFC and necessary road trip pit stops—these days it’s become a creative way for hospo businesses to do COVID-safe, contactless takeaway (like this bagel drive-thru in Marrickville, for example).
New to the drive-thru scene in Sydney is the Bella Vista Hotel’s “Food Truck Express” Drive-Thru. Basically, to keep the love flowing for local restaurants and cafes, this Hills District bistro has opened up its car park and driveway and created a laneway of food trucks—and you can cruise on over and order up a full feast from the safety of your car.
From Thursday through Sunday, you’ll be able to score drive-thru feeds from Fire and Brimstone BBQ, Burger Head, Pampa Flame, Pizza-ology, the ChocoWrap Dessert Truck (famous for their chocolate kebab), Emmy’s Gourmet Gozleme and more.
Bella Vista Hotel is also dishing out one-litre shake and serve cocktails and long necks too. Bottled cocktails include espresso martinis and margaritas, plus some 90s classics like a sex on the beach, a cosmopolitan and a Midori illusion (wow).
This totally innovative set up is a totally cashless event, and you’ll be asked to scan a QR code to order your meal.
